Introduction to Brush Calligraphy

Event Event

A three hour workshop in the beautiful, light filled space at Ampersand Collective in Subiaco where you will be introduced to the art of Brush Calligraphy in a comfortable, relaxed environment.

Calligraphy is the art of producing beautiful writing. It can be achieved using a pointed or broad tip nib (which is dipped into ink), brush tools (such as a paint brush or brush pen) or even a pencil! In the workshop you’ll be guided in brush calligraphy practice where you will learn the foundations of calligraphy and how to use two different sized brush pens to achieve your own beautiful style. It is a perfect introduction for beginners into the world of calligraphy.

A selection of materials I have chosen is supplied, being the very tools I learnt with and believe are the best for learning brush calligraphy. They are for you to use at the workshop and take home to practise, along with a workbook with notes, product recommendations and practice sheets.

Materials supplied:

- Two brush calligraphy pens in different sizes.
- Brush Calligraphy Practice Workbook.
- After the workshop, you’ll also have access to free printable worksheets.

The workshop is designed to be a calm space in which you will be warmly welcomed and taught the skill of brush calligraphy. There will also be light refreshments and tea and coffee.

Places are limited to 6 to ensure the workshop remains intimate enough for me to provide personalised guidance to each guest.

After you book your seat you will be sent an email with further information including everything you need to know to arrive at the workshop feeling relaxed and ready to learn.

Please feel free to email me at or contact me on Instagram or Facebook if you have any questions.

Do I have to have nice handwriting?

Not at all! Calligraphy is a much more mindful practice, it is more considered than handwriting. Think of it more like drawing letters, rather than writing.

OK, so do I have to be good at drawing?

No again. Absolutely no experience is necessary. A lot of people say that they aren't creative, but soon find with a bit of practice in the right environment that their creativity starts to flow.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of free and paid parking in Subiaco and the venue is a short distance from both Subiaco Train Station and West Leederville Train Station. More detailed information will be sent after you book your seat.

What can I bring into the event?

Everything you need will be supplied so there is no need to bring anything except your beautiful self (and your phone if you want to take some photos of your new creative skill!).

What's the refund policy?

Due to the nature of the preparation involved in planning and designing a workshop, if you book a ticket and are unable to attend, unfortunately I am unable to refund your ticket. However you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person.

To do this, just send me an email at least 1 day before the workshop -
