Elle Deslandes Trio | Subiaco Lounge Series

Event Event

A silky groove

An evening with Elle Deslandes promises a performance right on “song”, locking into a silky groove, her band will delight you with jazz standards, evoking the smoky “Speak Easy’s” of yesteryear whilst tempting you with fresh arrangements of numbers gleaned from other musical genres. Elle Deslandes has been performing around Perth for the past 20 years with some of Western Australia’s most respected and highly regarded jazz musicians.

Chris Foster has been active in the Jazz community since 2000 and has toured with various bands nationally and internationally. He is an integral part of several ongoing creative projects including the jazz outfits Abbey | Foster | Falle, TRISK and Hip Hop music production commitments with Optamus, Downsyde, Rcadia and Coin Banks. Chris has spent much of his professional career performing in the Perth Jazz scene and appearing as a sideman on recordings by local artists including: Nick Abbey (Phantoms), Kate Pass (Kohesia), Libby Hammer, Johannes Luebbers, Laura Corney and Rcadia. Recently, Chris’ main focus has been on composition and he plans to record a collection of works later this year. The pieces often feature subtle and sweet melodies blended with complex and dense harmony and a great depth in mood. Chris’ performances are dynamic with a range from dark and tense ballads to uplifting pieces with a bright character.

Pete Jeavons B. Mus. (Jazz), Dip. Ed. Active as a professional musician for over 20 years, Pete is an in-demand bassist performing regularly across a wide range of styles on both Double Bass and Electric Bass Guitar.
