Secrets of 6008: DR ROHAN PAGE

Article Article

DR ROHAN PAGE

Softly spoken and family-first, Dr Rohan Page quietly debunks the razzle-dazzle stereotypes of his vocation, preferring his work to speak for itself. A keen sense of proportion, function, precision and beauty has seen the specialist in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery lend his dexterous hand to practises from Stanford University to Subiaco’s St John of God.

Such is his default to problem solve, Page's lateral pragmatism has prevented many a culinary dilemma -- founding the ‘floating main’ tradition that means no diner leaves disappointed (more on that later). Dr Page may have made his name as a leading Australian plastic surgeon, but his sure-fire reliability has prompted friends to affectionately rechristen him ‘the mailman’ because no matter the drama, hour or ask - Page always delivers.

Q&A:

GO-TO LUNCH SPOT IN SUBIACO:

My work doesn’t typically allow for lunch breaks but I never regret ordering the pasta of the day from Lulu La Delizia for dinner with my wife and/or friends.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

In the company of my family with a nice glass of red in hand. You can also find me surfing with my boys down south (they’ve already managed to eclipse me in that department).

LET US ABOUT YOUR ‘FLOATING MAIN’ TRADITION?

Like most, I enjoy dinner with friends but nothing spoils this like a disappointing meal. I always like to order an extra dish in the event someone doesn’t order well, the ‘floating main’ ensures no dinner is a let-down.

WHAT’S NEXT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

I’ve always wanted to get my boat licence and take my family sailing around the Whitsundays.

MOST MEMORABLE SUBI MOMENT?

Buying my first family home in Subiaco with my wife back in 1999 was pretty special.

WHAT’S YOUR LIFE MOTTO?

Family is everything.
