If sitting around gazing into each other’s eyes isn’t quite your thing, then we’d recommend getting some groove on at this all-singing, all-dancing live show. Award-winning frontman Merry Brown and his showband will be rolling out all the big numbers, including Sweet Little Sixteen and Memphis, with some dance and tap routines thrown in for good measure.

If you and your date fancy a side of culture for the romantic night, then allow us introduce Nouveau Cirque du Vietnam. Featuring a plethora of contortionists, acrobats and jugglers, their show ‘Lang Toi’ is about a traditional Vietnamese village going about its daily life. Yet it’s so much more than that. Think poetic imagery, live folk music and a beautiful, fluid set of performers building structures from bamboo. This is a one-off experience not to be missed.

Speaking of alfresco activities, those looking for a more low key way to enjoy Valentine’s Day can opt for a romantic stroll and picnic in picturesque Market Square. Grab a blanket, stock up a hamper full of tasty treats, grab a bottle of bubbles and you’re good to go. There are even gazebos and picnic tables for those of you that don’t fancy sitting on the ground. Who needs a fancy restaurant when you have the great outdoors, right?
