The Great Outdoors: Alfresco Dining Spots We Can't Get Enough Of
When we’re blessed with such great weather in Perth, outdoor dining makes a lot of sense. Is there anything better than sitting outdoors on a balmy afternoon/evening and enjoying some great food and a couple of drinks?
Did you know that it’s a scientific fact that eating outdoors improves the taste of what you eat and drink by at least 74.65%?* Luckily there are plenty of great venues in Subi that allow us to take advantage of this, so check out this list of some of our favourite outdoor dining spots.
*This fact may or may not have been made up, but we stand by our claim that food & drink taste better when enjoyed outside.
The Greeks are no stranger to alfresco dining, so it’s no surprise that Lady of Ro’s Greek-inspired menu of rustic sharing dishes goes down an absolute treat when enjoyed in their Rokeby Road side outdoor seating area.
These guys are also BYO, so next time the weather is good we highly recommend grabbing a bottle of vino (or two) and heading on down for a marvellous Mediterranean meal.

Having established a reputation as one of the best Italian restaurants in the entire country, we’d happily eat at Lulu if it was seven stories underground in a dingy basement. We’re not even joking here, their food is seriously that good.
It’s just an added bonus that they have a lovely little alfresco section on Forrest Walk just off Rokeby Road. Score an outside seat, order some amazing handmade pasta or the chef’s tasting menu, have a wine or two and it’s pretty darn hard to be unhappy with the world.

Fancy some food and drink before hopping on the train home? Located right next to the train station, Refuge’s lovely outdoor seating area is a favourite amongst local office workers looking for a little post-work relaxation.
The bar style seating that faces the station also makes for some of the best people watching in town too. Grab a beverage and some nibbles, and it's easy to spend hours just watching the world go by.

Perth’s mediterranean climate isn’t a million miles away from what you’d experience in Greece, so it’s easy to feel like you’re getting the real deal when tucking into some of George’s delicious Greek style meze sharing dishes. Their leafy, trellised outdoor area is the perfect setting for a lively meal with good friends (and potentially a few ouzos too if folks feel like being really authentic).
