Shop winter essentials
As we finally return to life after lockdown and winter sets in, it’s time to leave the house, put away your active wear and get your sass back with some fun winter pieces that bring the colour back into your world.
We teamed up with local stylists Nic & Bev from @TheStyleTrust
to take us through this season’s must-haves and where to find them in Subiaco.
We know Perth winters don’t get that cold, but we’ll make any excuse to wear this fabulous coat. It features a red fur collar for dull weather day pick-me-ups that’s removable when you need to be more demure. Team it with some interesting animal brooches when it’s time to shine.

BEAUTY: The #iso top five
No one’s skin loved being in isolation because everyone ate all of the snacks and drank all of the wine, while pretending to exercise at home. Try these skin and hair saviours and in no time at all you’ll get your glow back…
1. Dermalogica Age Smart Multi-Vitamin Thermafoliant - $84
Jana Beauty, 439A Hay Street
I tried this one to scrub off those COVID and winter woolies feels. I loved the super fine granules and the warm tingly sensation of the scrub – but most of all I love the squeaky clean smooth result. I have really sensitive skin and this scrub was not too abrasive and gentle on my allergies too.
2. Go-to transformazing sheet masks – $48 for six.
Mecca Cosmetica, 13/1 Rokeby Road
Bev & Nic:
These are the bomb.com. If your skin’s feeling a bit lacklustre, pop one of these beauties on for 15 minutes and give your skin a refreshing serum drink. If you really need a treat (or you’re hungover), keep them in the fridge and they’ll give you some extra sparkle.
3. Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturising hair masque – $55
Element Aveda Lifestyle Subiaco, 17 Rokeby Road
My locks needed some post lockdown love and this masque was just what the doctor ordered. Designed to drench dry, brittle hair with moisture it also smells delightful with a heady mix of organic lavender, bergamot and ginger lily. Ultra nourishing.
4. Jojoba Ultimate Youth Dew face oil – $44.99
Priceline Pharmacy, 440 Hay Street
This silky face oil glides on gorgeously and hydrates the hell out of my skin morning and night. After using it for two weeks my post-iso skin feels more plump, less parched and I’m pretty sure I look 20 per cent younger?! Winner winner, chicken dinner.
5. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres lipgloss – $57
Mecca Cosmetica, 13/1 Rokeby Road
I say gloss like a boss all day long! A slick of this Yves Saint Laurent loveliness will make you feel like a million bucks and ready steady to get back out there. I’m addicted to lip gloss; it’s the perfect pick-me-up that won’t break the bank.
