It’s often said that laughter is the best medicine. If that’s true, then Perth is going to be a lot healthier after The Perth Comedy Festival is finished. Running from 22nd of April to the 19th of May, Subiaco’s Regal Theatre will play host to some side-splittingly funny acts.

And we could all use a good laugh, so check out the list below to find out more about some of the acts, we’re most excited about.
 

David O’Doherty

How funny can one man and a tiny plastic keyboard be? Very, very funny as it turns out. Armed with nothing more than a cheap musical instrument and his razor sharp wit, O’Doherty has established a reputation as one of Ireland’s most loved and well-known comedians. If you like your comedy silly, whimsical and ever so slightly musical, then this show is definitely for you!

The Perth Comedy Festival Gala

Why just choose one act to see when you could experience a whole host of amazing comedic talent in the one fantastic show? The Perth Comedy Festival Gala is kind of like a tapas meal, but instead of food you’ll get bit sized chunks of comedy gold served up to you over the course of a couple of hours. It really is the biggest night of comedy in Perth!

Nazeem Hussain - Basic Idiot

You don’t get your own Netflix special and sell out performances in Australia, New Zealand, Edinburg, London, China, Malaysia Montral & Sri Lanka without being pretty damned funny. Having established a reputation for edgy comedy that plays with themes of race, religion and politics - especially in his sketch comedy show Orange Is The New Brown - Nazeem’s latest solo show puts all of his experience to good use and is a unquestionable masterclass in great stand up comedy.

Phil Jupitus - Sassy Knack

Fans of English comedy panel shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and QI will be aware of just how funny this veteran of the UK comedy scene can be. Having recently moved to Scotland, Jupitus’s latest show seeing him sharing a range of hilarious stories and insights about life in his new home country.
