Subi’s Summer Events to Look Forward to
When we think about summer, we can’t help but think of the sun soaking into our skin, beautiful clear skies, blissful beachy days and of course, a calendar of events that cannot be missed.
Summer is kind of a MAJOR deal here in Subi’s savvy streets. We go all out while the sun comes out to play. Whether it is indulging in arts and culture or delving into the festive spirit of Pineapple Club, there is plenty to look forward to this summer.
Here are a few things that will surely get anyone off the couch and out of the house, all summer long;

Bran Nue Dae is part of this year’s Perth Festival. Presented by West Australian Opera and created by Jimmy Chi and Kuckles, this coming-of-age musical is an exuberant ride through 1960s Western Australia. A feel-good mash-up of rock-and-roll, gospel, country and blues music made the first-ever Aboriginal musical a sparkling success in 1990. The stage is a recreation of the historic Sun Pictures open-air cinema in Broome, and the costumes are delightfully nostalgic. Chi’s semi-autobiographical musical is packed with humour and hope. Summer is incomplete without catching Bran Nue Dae!
