What's On In 2018: A Guide To Subi's Most Exciting Upcoming Events
Cosmopolitan and lively, Subi plays host to a range of fantastic events throughout the year. Here’s a taster of some of our favourite upcoming occasions that you might want to put into your diary.
Legally Blonde - The Musical @ The Regal Theatre
Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the oh-so-hilarious movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde - The Musical stars Lyn McGranger (Home and Away), John O’Hara (Wicked) and Jamie Mercanti (Beauty and the Beast).
The multi-award winning smash hit musical has armloads of major awards to its name and has been packing them in around the world, first appearing to sell-out shows in Broadway and the West End before packing its bags and heading on a road trip around the UK, Europe and Asia. Now, finally, it’s here, right on our very own doorstep.
Legally Blonde - The Musical will run from 24 Aug to 2 Sept at The Regal Theatre.
Tickets and more information can be found at Ticketek here.
Grigoryan Brothers @ Subiaco Arts Centre
Slava & Leonard Grigoryan are stalwarts of the Australian classical music scene. With a slew of accolades between them, the brothers from Kazakhstan have released five albums, all of which have been nominated for ARIA awards over the years.
For this performance, they will be playing songs from their latest release, Songs Without Words.
The Grigoryan Brothers will be performing on 22 September in the Main Auditorium of the Subiaco Arts Centre.
Tickets are available here.
Justine Clarke - Silly Songs @ Regal Theatre
We all know Justine Clarke, right? She’s been in everything from Home & Away to Mad Max, is a regular singer on the Sydney jazz/ cabaret circuit and often treads the boards as a stage actor for the Sydney Theatre Company. One of her more recent roles as a presenter on Play School led to her becoming one of the most well-known performers in Aussie children’s entertainment.
She’ll be gracing Perth families with her children’s show called Silly Songs on 30 September for two shows at 10am and 12pm.
To be held at the Regal Theatre, tickets are available here and infants under 12 months are free.
Befriend Sausage Sizzle @ Tom Dadour Community Centre
If you’re new to all the wonderful things that Subi has to offer (or are just looking to meet some new peeps), then this is bound to be right up your alley.
A monthly event called Befriend is a sausage sizzle for people looking to meet up with other locals and get to know one another. It’s a great community initiative and a way to know your neighbours, and at just $2.50 for a hot dog, it has to be the cheapest networking event in town.
Befriend Sausage Sizzle is held on the 4th Sunday of every month at the Tom Dadour Community Centre.
To register your attendance, head to the Befriend website here. We’ll see you there over a snag or two!
