EVENT CANCELLED: What to Expect at the Subiaco Street Party
EVENT CANCELLED
Subiaco is taking it to the streets once more! The
2020 Subiaco Street Party is set to kick off on the 4th of April 2020 from 12-8 pm. Celebrating Australia and Subiaco’s rich multicultural communities, we’re taking you around the globe with art, entertainment, food and drinks from the four corners of the earth.
Located in the heart of Subiaco; Rokeby Road and Hay Street, this year’s festival will transform the streets into a vibrant, bustling hub of multicultural activity. Guaranteed to be a fantastic day out for the entire family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Even your pets are welcome!
So, save the date, tell your friends and get in a festive mood because this is
the event not to be missed as we wind down into autumn.
Here’s a little taste of what you can expect;
The Down Under Zone
Enjoy a spot of true blue and fair dinkum Aussie awesomeness in the Down Under Zone. Celebrate what makes Australia unique, with performances from local talent such as Joel Davis, Natasha Eldridge and the School of Rock! Chuck the kids in a sandpit and relax with a cheeky stubbie or two in the beer garden. Yea, nah, sounds great!

The Americas Zone
Stretching from the Rockies in the north of Canada; through the great deserts of the USA; past the beaches of Mexico and into the glaciers of Argentina; the Americas are huge! Such a vast and diverse area with so much to offer the world in terms of culture, art and amazingly tasty food and drinks.
Join in the fun with Juan Rando Dance Studio as they put on Latin dance classes and the rhythmic Sambanistas. Also, don’t miss out on the classic American street food trucks and the chance to sip some rum cocktails at the pop-up Havana Lounge. Vamos!

Asia & the Orient Zone
Australia, and indeed Perth, share a unique relationship with much of Asia. We share time zones and for us in WA, it’s often cheaper to duck over to Bali for the weekend than it is to Sydney. Well, you won’t have to fly anywhere to experience a taste of Asia. Come down and enjoy all the Asia and the Orient Zone has to offer in the familiar streets of Subi. Chinese drumming, Bollywood dancing, Japanese dancing and Yaolin lion dancing performances will have you feeling the vibes. And don’t worry, there’s dumplings galore and a fine selection of ramen, of course.

The Mediterranean Zone
The crystal-clear blue waters of the Mediterranean have given so much to the world over the centuries. With many great nations calling it their sea, the culture and food coming out of the area is nothing short of inspiring.
Be wowed by an amazing Can-Can performance, the Prima Donna Duo and join in a drag queen performance from DAFUQ Entertainment. This zone will definitely be buzzing all day long. Known for its amazing food, the Mediterranean Zone will offer delicious treats that will please the whole family.
