Bar Banter chats up a storm

There’s always plenty of banter when hospitality mogul Clint Nolan swings by.

Last year, when he opened La Condesa on the site of the old Oriel, the colourful Mexican eatery took off with locals like a bearded lizard on a hot tin roof.

Nolan found himself so welcomed to the ‘hood that he is doing it all again with a new 100-seater Mediterranean-inspired bar – his 10th hospitality outlet in Perth – popping up in the rear laneway of La Condesa.

Bar Banter, he promises, will be like no other – a place for after work drinks or a late-night cocktail. And the whipped ricotta with grill-kissed flatbread, charcuterie boards and truffled parmesan potato gems will hit the hunger spot.

“It’s more of a bar than restaurant,” says Nolan. “Think of it as your local watering hole with mouth-watering Mediterranean-inspired nibbles. When we first opened La Condesa, it was all hands on deck. Watching Subiaco come alive again has been a real treat, and we’re very proud to have La Condesa and Bar Banter contribute to this.”
