Accessibility Statement

See Subiaco is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive website experience for all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Our Accessibility Standards

We have considered the following minimum standards to enhance usability:

  • Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines for readability.
  • Text size, font weight, and spacing ensure clear and legible content.
  • Alternative text (alt text) is provided for meaningful images.
  • Descriptive page titles, headings, and meta descriptions improve navigation and clarity.
  • Keyboard and screen reader-friendly navigation, including logical menu structures and focus indicators.

While we strive for full compliance, we recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process. If you experience any accessibility issues or require content in an alternative format, please contact us so we can assist you.

Accessibility Widget (UserWay)

To further enhance accessibility, See Subiaco has installed the UserWay Accessibility Widget, which provides additional tools to assist users in customising their experience. This widget can be accessed via the accessibility icon located on the website.

The widget offers features such as:

  • Text size adjustment for better readability.
  • Colour contrast modifications for visual accessibility.
  • Screen reader compatibility for improved navigation.
  • Keyboard navigation enhancements to assist users who rely on keyboard input.

These tools allow users to customise their browsing experience based on their individual needs.

Responsive Design

Our website is designed to adapt seamlessly across various devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.

Keyboard Navigation

Users can navigate our website using only a keyboard:

  • Press the Tab key to move between links, buttons, and form fields.
  • Use Shift + Tab to move backwards.
  • Press Enter to activate links or buttons.

Zoom & Text Resizing

If you need larger text, you can use your browser’s zoom function:

  • Windows: Press Ctrl and + (plus) to zoom in, Ctrl and (minus) to zoom out.
  • Mac: Press Cmd and + (plus) to zoom in, Cmd and (minus) to zoom out.

High Contrast Mode

For improved visibility, you can enable high contrast mode on your computer:

  • Windows: Press Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen, then select YES to enable.
  • Mac: Enable “Invert Colours” via System Preferences > Accessibility > Display.

Links & Hyperlinks

  • Links are descriptive and meaningful to improve readability and navigation.
  • Links open in the same window, except for documents (e.g., PDFs), which open in a new tab for convenience.

Images & Graphics

  • All meaningful images have alternative text (alt text) for screen readers.
  • Decorative images are marked appropriately so they are ignored by assistive technologies.

Documents & Downloads

We strive to provide documents in an accessible format, such as HTML or Microsoft Word. While most PDFs are accessible, some older files may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

If you require a document in an alternative format, please contact us, and we will assist you.

To view documents:

  • PDFs: Download Adobe Reader.
  • Microsoft Word Files: Use Word Office Online or OpenOffice.
