Meet ACID.FLWRS: The Artist Headlining Subi Blooms 2025

Get excited: acclaimed artist ACID.FLWRS is headlining the 2025 Subi Blooms festival with an immersive art installation.

Blossoming bigger and better than ever before, Subi Blooms is returning to Subiaco this May with some extra special surprises.

First and foremost, the announcement that Sydney-based floral artist ACID.FLWRS is headlining the festival with a curtain-raiser installation, the likes of which Subiaco has never seen before. Custom created for Subi Blooms, the installation is set to cement the festival on the national stage.

Following the success of last year’s lovable Stem by Stem by ENESS, a large-scale inflatable artwork featuring lights, sounds and overflowing florals, the new centrepiece attraction will transform Seddon Street into a floral dreamscape for its four-week exhibition.

Launching on Friday 25 April, the immersive installation will be free to the public and available for viewing 24/7 on Seddon Street, near the entrance to ONE Subiaco’s ground floor commercial precinct. Inviting moments of discovery, play and wonder – and plenty of photo ops – the display is a must-visit in the lead up to Subi Blooms festival weekend from Friday 9 to Saturday 11 May.

But, who is the mastermind behind ACID.FLWRS?

Enter Claire Mueller, a trailblazing creative who has quickly carved a name for herself across Australia with her unique, hyper-coloured and futuristic floral art. Known as the “Queen of the Original Marbled Orchid,” she has build a reputation for pushing the boundaries of design.

Since launching in 2021, her fine art floral studio has seen outstanding success, featuring at the National Gallery of Victoria and the David Jones Spring Flower Show. This newest installation, REFLECT, is set to be her biggest work of art yet.

“This piece is an expansion of the ACID.FLWRS world, moving from delicate single flowers to an interactive experience. All ACID.FLWRS work is intended to ‘Make It Brighter’ – creating moments of wonder that spark inspiration and fresh perspectives,” says Mueller.

“I love seeing people experience something they think they already know in a new light. I think being open to new realities is such an important quality in our rapidly evolving world and I want to foster that through my art.”

Created in the artist’s signature visual language, REFLECT will feature bold marbled patterns, vibrant floral motifs, and mirrored moments, transforming Subiaco into a dreamlike wonderland.

A highlight of this year’s Subi Blooms festival, this interactive floral fantasy is not to be missed.
