Lums, a small bar located at 433 Hay St, was once home to EA Lums Grocery & General Store in the 1920s, which Emily and Charles Lums owned. As a family-owned shop, it was a popular gathering spot for locals in Subiaco to purchase high-quality ingredients.
The team behind Bark Subiaco, a friendly bar located 300m down the road with a West Australian theme, has transformed the premises, keeping many of the original features of the building intact and paying homage to its history.
Lums is a wine-centric small bar that can accommodate up to 120 people, and it offers a welcoming community atmosphere and a selection of honest, high-quality, artisan wines. The wine list is designed to cater to different tastes, ranging from a funky Swan Valley Pet Nat to a classic Italian Nebbiolo, with plenty of delicious options in between.
The menu is also thoughtfully created to complement the wine, with a selection of cheese and charcuterie boards, share-style tapas, and light bites. The space is designed to include all party sizes, from locals stopping by for a glass of wine and a snack on the way home to larger groups, functions, and celebrations.
