Tarana School of Kathak dance is a space where tradition, rhythm, storytelling and expression come alive through the beautiful art of Indian classical dance, Kathak.
The purpose of the evening is to share the intricacies of Kathak dance, which is still relatively new to many Australians across the broader community. Tarana’s aim and mission are to nurture the idea of classical dance of India beyond entertainment and to help and educate the dancers and wider dance community of the next generation. It can also help diversify the local economy by providing additional arts and cultural offerings.
We are currently planning a dance showcase in tribute to the late Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, a legendary Kathak dancer of India, on 5th September, 2026.
