Awaken your inner musician and discover the joy of making music together at Machi’s Music Circle, a welcoming fortnightly music series hosted by the Subiaco Women’s Shed.
This session explores the world of Jazz, inviting participants to experiment with rhythm, percussion and creative expression in a relaxed and supportive environment. No prior musical experience is required, making it perfect for anyone curious about music or looking to try something new.
Led by Perth-based percussionist and marimba player Machi Ishida, these sessions focus on connection, wellbeing and the simple pleasure of creating music together. Using percussion instruments, body percussion and group activities, you’ll explore rhythm and sound in an accessible and enjoyable way.

About Machi Ishida
Originally from Japan and now based in Perth, Machi Ishida is a percussionist and marimba player passionate about creating inclusive musical experiences. Through her workshops, Machi encourages participants to explore rhythm, creativity and connection through music, regardless of skill level or experience.
