Something has arrived in Market Square Park.

At the centre of Subiaco’s Halloween celebrations, acclaimed artist Matthew Aberline and Beautiful & Useful Studio will transform the park into a colourful gathering of curious, mischievous and larger-than-life creatures.
Following the success of Aberline’s hugely popular The Light Within installation in April, the artist returns to Subiaco with something decidedly more mischievous.
From Friday 30 October, a curious collection of inflatable monsters will take over Market Square Park, creating an unexpected new playground of colour, characters and photo opportunities right in the heart of Subiaco.
And while Spookiaco may wrap up on 1 November, but the monsters will linger for an extra week, staying until 8 November.
Whatever you do, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Meet the artist
Based in Sydney with his team, The Beautiful and Useful Studio, Matthew Aberline is a globally acclaimed artist known for large-format inflatables and vibrant textile-driven installations. His work has featured at major festivals including Enlighten Canberra, iLight Singapore and Vivid Sydney.
