Subiaco’s signature floral festival has received another award nomination, and we couldn’t be prouder.
After winning Gold at the 2025 Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards and Silver at the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, the 2026 edition of Subiaco’s iconic Subi Blooms x Gather festival had a lot to live up to.
Every autumn, the flagship festival is known for transforming Subiaco into a spectacular floral wonderland in celebration of Mother’s Day, with large-scale floral installations, immersive public art, workshops and community activities bringing the precinct to life. It’s not easy to top the splendour of the year before – but the festival shows no sign of slowing down.
The 2026 edition of the festival has just received recognition on the national stage, with the City of Subiaco nominated in the 2026 National Economic Development Awards for Excellence. Subi Blooms x Gather is nominated in the category of Economic Development Marketing and Promotion, with the City also scoring another nomination in the category Economic Development Excellence – Cities and Larger Regions for The Subi Advantage: Investing in Place, Growing the Economy.
These awards recognise initiatives that help shape vibrant communities, support local economies and create standout destinations. Subiaco is in good company, nominated alongside several other standout local governments, with the award winners announced in Hobart on Wednesday 14 October.
For anyone who’s visited Subiaco on Mother’s Day weekend, the nomination comes as little surprise. Established in 2018, Subi Blooms x Gather has become a much-loved fixture on Perth’s calendar, with visitors drawn to Subiaco’s town centre, public spaces and parks to discover moments of joy around every corner.
This nomination is also a celebration of these visitors, and the people who bring the festival to life each year. From Gather – A Floral Community and City staff, to floral artists, local businesses, suppliers and community partners, Subi Blooms x Gather is a true collaboration that showcases the very best of Subiaco.
