La Bastide is Bringing French Flair to Subiaco

Rob Breden and his wife, Michelle, have just introduced a touch of French magic to the Onslow Road spot that used to house La Petite Mort, transforming it into a bistro called La Bastide.

Having spent the past few weeks doing a complete hands-on refit, the delightful space is now open for business and welcoming curious passers-by onto the terrace for some escargot and a cheeky taste of Provence – a place where the Breden’s have spent many a happy holiday.

The menu is a take on classic French bistro dishes such as duck parfait, confit of duck and steak tartare – all with a modern touch. “Everything is on there for a reason,” says Rob. “There are also some South American wines. Everything listed means something to us.”

As well as being open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, they will open for breakfast on weekends serving pain au chocolat, orange juice and coffee.

Vive la Bastide!

La Bastide, 225 Onslow Rd, Shenton Park.
