Subi Blooms x Gather presents The Light Within by Matthew Aberline
Experience The Light Within, an immersive inflatable art installation created by artist Matthew Aberline with The Beautiful and Useful Studio.
From Friday 17 April to Sunday 10 May, Market Square Park will be transformed into a glowing landscape of giant, floral lanterns that illuminate after dark.
Originally showcased at Singapore’s iLight Festival and the Glow Festival in Shenzhen, China, this extraordinary installation is appearing in Western Australia for the first time as the centrepiece of Subi Blooms x Gather 2026.
By day, it’s a kaleidoscopic garden of colour. By night, it’s another world entirely. Illuminated, enveloping, and utterly transformative, The Light Within invites us all to connect with our innermost sense of wonder.

Meet the artist
Based in Sydney with his team, The Beautiful and Useful Studio, Matthew Aberline is a globally acclaimed artist known for large-format inflatables and vibrant textile-driven installations. His work has featured at major festivals including Enlighten Canberra, iLight Singapore and Vivid Sydney.
